Ten years ago today.....

The most disturbing part of 9/11 for me was the lack of airplanes for the short time following the attacks. We live near one of the busiest airports on the planet, and we see planes every few minutes heading in and out, but for that period of time, the sky was eerily quiet. Our world came to a standstill as we all watched in disbelief the events as they unfolded on our tvs or as we listened on our radios.

Ten years later, rewatching any of the news coverage from that day still makes me cry. I cry in anger, frustration and sympathy for those who were lost, and those left behind. That day will live in our memories for the rest of our lives, we saw it happen, whether it was on tv or in person, it affected all of us. The events of that day forever altered our sense of security. Tragedy can strike any time, any where. My biggest lesson that I took from that day: NEVER take your life for granted, be mindful of all your blessings, and pass on some kindness in whatever capacity you can on a daily basis.

We will never forget.
