dAY sEveN

Tried to sleep in....neither man nor beast would let me.

First half of the day was ok food wise, but we blew it with pizza for dinner and home made brownie sundaes for desert. But sometimes, comfort foods make a difference in how your day goes.

Life happens all around us, and life also goes on, with our without us. Some days, I'd like to sit on shore and watch life go on by while I take a breather. Most of the time, that is just not possible. SIGH.

Day Six....TGIF

The above are words to live by....so I went to Michael's and got a bunch of small notebooks, I love to use them for notes and at seminars and meetings to jot ideas down. More fun than a plain old note pad. And I got one more large paper storage box. Everything was on sale and I only spent $11.12. Fairly cheap fun. And hey, little things like that make me happy.

Cute creatures make me happy. Pretty pictures make me happy.

Mountains make me happy, and I've been to this one several times. So I try to surround myself with at the very least, pictures of the places that make me happy. When I get the chance, I go to those places to soak up the happy. Vacations rock!

And finally, home makes me happy.

Ok. So that's the home I will have eventually. Just not quite yet. ;o)

Day Five....

Major PMS...........so focusing on being nice to myself....:o) Attended a webinar on taking better care of yourself and having a positive attitude. Some of the most important things in my life should be :

Feed your body.
Feed your mind.
Feed your soul.

So every day, do something to achieve all three. Eat healthy foods that nourish your body. Read, or watch something that you were not familiar with, or interests you. And do something nice for yourself, whether or not you are religious, or spiritual, or just love nature. Take a few minutes to appreciate what you do have in your life.

Giant failure food wise today. Donuts for breakfast, breakfast for lunch and noodles for dinner. But I have PMS and that makes me feel sorry for myself just a tiny bit. The donuts help with the cramps. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Day Three....

Somewhat more on track today.
Breakfast....don't ask...won't tell...fail
Lunch was sauerkraut soup (family recipe)small portion of grapes and an activia vanilla yogurt.
Snack....handful of mixed unsalted nuts and a small apple.
Dinner...left over pot roast.Yum.

For mental health, I did more sorting and purging of junk in the home office.

Going to bed at a decent hour......well, maybe not.

But I will visualize a peaceful place as I drift off....

Day Two....On my way....

WooHoo! I actually made a home cooked dinner. Pot roast in the crock pot using this Eating Well recipe. It sounds very strange, but tastes fabulous. Served over 'no yolk' noodles, it was a great meal. And thanks to a sale on the meat at Whole Foods, it was even economical.

It's a start anyway. :o)

Day One

Total failure. Good thing I have 364 to go.
